American Hydrogen Corporation holds an exclusive, worldwide license, granted by Ohio University, to commercialize a breakthrough ammonia-to- hydrogen catalytic electrolyzer based on patent-pending technology developed by Dr. G. Botte of Ohio University’s Russ Engineering School.
The ammonia catalytic electrolyzer (ACE) reduces the amount of electricity needed to split hydrogen from nitrogen in an ammonia molecule. The reduction of electrical input is so significant it is calculated to reduce the cost of producing hydrogen to around $2.00 per kilogram from around $8.00 per kg for commercially produced H2 today. A kilogram of H2 is equivalent in its energy content to one gallon of gasoline.
The first commercial ACE unit will be a hydrogen generator for the HydraStax® fuel cells manufactured by Hydra Fuel Cell Corp. The second commercial system is expected to be an on demand hydrogen generator for vehicle fueling. AHC expects to sublicense the technology to industrial hydrogen producers to reduce the cost of H2 production to provide economically priced H2 to unlock the promise of “The Hydrogen Economy”.
American Hydrogen Corporation is headquartered at the Innovation Center of Ohio University (www.ohio.edu ), 340 West State Street, Suite 134A, Athens, OH 45701.
American Wind Power Corporation
American Wind Power holds the rights to commercialize a residential scale wind turbine based on the patented Noble Wind Turbine which spins on a vertical axis. AWPC is awaiting the final engineering design to begin production of this highly efficient wind turbine.
AWPC has a Letter of Intent to acquire VAWT Manufacturing Inc. of McKinney, Texas. VAWT holds the exclusive North American rights to manufacture the Mag-Wind magnetically levitated vertical axis wind turbine. AWPC intends that VAWT will manufacture the Noble Wind Turbine in addition to the Mag-Wind.
American Wind Power Corp. offices with American Security Resources in Houston, TX, but will move to the VAWT facility at the closing of that acquisition which is expected to occur before year end 2007.
